St. Theodore's Stewardship

November 2007

Pledge Cards print

Dear Parish Family,

What an exciting time to be a parishioner at St. Theodore's. The church is growing in so many ways to include a great Sunday school program, a growing EYC, increased service attendance and outreach. As a parish most of us have signed the covenant to pray for and be an active participant in our Vision 2012. The vision calls on all of us to assist in creating an environment that allows each of us to achieve God's calling for our lives.

It is time once again to discuss what Christian Stewardship means to each of us. Some define this term as “Using the gifts God has given us to do the work God is calling us to do”. Others define it as “What I do with all that I have after I say, ‘I believe'”. As we enter this season of stewardship, it is important for all of us to pray often for guidance and understanding about our own gift to God.

Our congregation is composed of wonderful and caring individuals in various stages of their lives. Recognizing this fact is important because it directly affects “giving” decisions. In an effort to assist in this process of determining what Christian Stewardship means, we want to share with you several key thoughts about stewardship in general.

First, stewardship involves joyous acts of thanksgiving in response to all that God has given us. Stewardship is life changing. We are all God's stewards. What we decide to do will grow out of our personal relationship with God. Active stewardship demonstrates our complete faith that God truly wants each of us to live a life of abundance and fully realize that what is given will come back to us many times over. Finally, by giving in faith together, we can accomplish much more.

If you have questions or concerns as you consider the coming year, Father Parks is available for a home visit. Please contact him directly to schedule a time that is convenient.

On behalf of the Vestry and the Stewardship Committee, we want to thank you for your time, consideration and contribution to the life of St. Theodore's Episcopal Church.
