ANNOUNCEMENT: 2010
St. Anne’s Guild: “Bakeless Bake Sale”
Each year St. Anne's Guild, which is our local chapter of Episcopal Church Women, has a Bakeless Bake Sale.
This is our major fundraiser of the year and helps us to provide funds for various projects inside the church and for community outreach. Last year we contributed to the purchase of a new dishwasher and new playground equipment for the church. We also contributed to Cooper School's Fund for Needy Children and to the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County.
Every woman who is a member of St. Theodore's is automatically a member of St. Anne’s Guild. Therefore we ask that you contribute, not your favorite pies, cakes and other goodies, but a cash donation to help us with this year's work.
Please make your checks payable to St. Anne's Guild and mail to the church or place in an envelope and leave it in the St. Anne's mailbox outside the church office door. Thank you so much for your consideration.
St. Anne's Guild - Episcoal Church Women
WHO WE ARE
We are all women of the Episcopal Church; Rooted in our past and growing into God's future.
OUR MISSION
Centered in congregations, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) empowers women to do Christ's ministry in the World. (Adopted March 2007 by the ECW National Board)
All women members of St. Theodore's are members of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and St. Anne's Guild. The purpose of St. Anne's Guild is to provide fellowship, education and service. We incorporate these goals in our programs and outreach activities. Our programs are spiritual, educational, and sometimes just entertaining. We have book reviews, musical presentations, and speakers from the community representing organizations such as the Children's Shelter, the Sheriff Department, the Bella Vista Animal Shelter and others. This year we are focusing our programs on “Our Anglicanism.”
We sponsor several activities in the parish including the annual church-wide picnic in June, The Church Periodical Club, and The United Thank Offering . We have ecumenical luncheons to foster communications with other churches. Our annual Bakeless Bake Sale provides money for our projects and various charities in Bella Vista and Benton County.
Several of our women have been involved on the diocesan and national level of ECW. Many attend Women's Institute at Camp Mitchell in June and the Annual Meeting in October. We have supported the diocesan Time for Joy retreat for young women by sponsoring two retreatants from our parish each of the last two years.
The money we have this year went to our dues to ECW in Little Rock; to sponsor one camper at the Robert R Brown Camp; to purchase two bricks for the Jericho Roads House; and to donate to the memorial fund remembering women who have died this year. Funds left over are in an account to purchase a new dishwasher for the kitchen.
St Anne's also decorates the Church seasonally. We are willing to help whenever needed.
St. Anne's Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month, September through May, at 9:30 a.m. in Sengel Hall. This is an active group of women seeking to live in the light of Christ. Come join us!
