Memorial Committee

Memorials are monies that are given to the church in memory of a deceased or as a gift of thanksgiving.

Your Memorial Committee offers a brief review of the guidelines concerning the gifts of memorials and thanksgivings for your enlightenment.

All monetary gifts given as memorials or thanksgivings without a surname or project description shall be accepted as non-designated gifts. These funds may be used in any manner as recommended by the Memorial Committee and approved by the Vestry. All monetary gifts or gifts in kind that are offered to the church for a specific purpose are subject to Vestry approval.

Since the church wants to gratefully acknowledge all memorials and thanksgivings it receives, please make sure that checks are made payable to St. Theodore's Church with the loved one's surname or project description indicated on the memo line. All items purchased with memorial funds or gifts accepted become the property of the parish for its express and sole use. All such items, and the names of those being memorialized, are to be entered in the Memorial Book which is maintained by the Memorial Committee.

If you are in doubt about the advisability of a gift or memorial, which you wish to make, feel free to seek counsel with the priest, a vestry member, or a member of the Memorial Committee. It is the desire of the Memorial Committee to accept and use all gifts and memorials made to St. Theodore's in such a manner as to give consolation and pride to the giver and lend dignity and glory to those who are memorialized.

This past year the David Evans Memorial provided for the purchase of new choir robes and the Jane Grady and Norris Ogard Memorials funded the Children's Library.
