Are we “Green Stewards” yet?

Protecting God’s green earth is part of our job too, "All of Us."

One of the easiest every day materials to recycle is GLASS.  The reuse program that allowed consumers to return glass bottles to the grocery store for deposit refund has almost been abandoned, but there is good news of a better way to recycle this glass.

One of the nation’s biggest trash companies, Waste Management, said they recycle more than one million tons of glass each year with 80% going back into new glass containers. The bad news is 20% to 25% of our glass usage still goes to the landfills. Ugh!! Those landfills again.

We can simply toss all our glass containers of all colors into recycle bins provided at church or we can take glass to our own local AARP Recycling Center in Bella Vista. This glass can move from the recycling center back to store shelves in just a month. Unbelievable! 

When buying any products, THINK GLASS. It is cleaner, healthier and often less expensive.

Have we turned our back on God’s vision for creation?  NO…not at Saint Theodore’s.
So let’s get together and things will be all right.
