Greening of the Church

Green Facts:  Did you know?

The re-cycle bins are in place at Church beneath the bulletin board, so if you do not have a way to re-cycle at home, please use them.

More people are using the china cups for coffee downstairs.  We are in the process of setting up a schedule for washing these cups.  If you wish to volunteer occasionally, sign up or let me know.

Going green means saving money, maybe not a lot but if you are on a tight budget as we are, every little bit helps.  Refill your water bottles that you carry with you.

If you have a friendly neighbor or relative, try talking about sharing your trash pickup.  My daughter and I have been doing this for years, thus halving the monthly cost.

I am into composting.  Contact me if you need information on how to do it.  Also if you groom your own pets, their hair is good mulch around your plants and shrubs.  It looks different, and the birds can help themselves when building their nests.

Most showers waste a lot of water before the hot water arrives, place a bucket to catch that water, it can then be used to water plants or fill the pet's drinking bowls, or even flush the toilet.

Watch Forecast Earth every Sunday at 6 p.m. on the Weather Channel for more ideas.
