Altar Guild

Service on the altar means we work very hard to make sure the altar is always set for all services. This work is taken seriously, and great pains are taken to ensure the altar is correctly set up, spotlessly clean and arranged to provide the center of worship. There are also many details that go largely unnoticed like washing and ironing the linens, silver to polish, crystal to clean and preparing the candles.

After the 10:30 a.m. service, the altar flowers are taken to shut-in members of the Parish to cheer them up and to let them know we are thinking of them. All the ladies feel it is an honor to set God’s table.

The Altar Guild works hard, but without the help of a few of our husbands with decorating, heavy lifting, and ladder climbing, it would be impossible for us to do all that needs to be done.

• Write check payable to St. Theodore’s with “Altar Flowers” or “Sanctuary Candle” in the memo portion.
• Flowers are $50 and candles are $15.
• Put check and yellow card in one of the envelopes from the drawer and place it either in the collection plate on Sunday or in the metal drop box on the Treasurer’s office door.
